Crunch (move)
Crunch (Japanese: かみくだく Crunch) is a damage-dealing Dark-type move introduced in Generation II. It is TR32 in Generation VIII.

Effect
Generations II and III
Crunch does damage and has a 20% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense stat by one stage.
Crunch can also be used as part of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining an extra appeal point if move Scary Face was used in the prior turn.
Generation IV onward
Crunch now has a 20% chance of lowering the target's Defense stat by one stage.

In Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, Crunch is a move with 16 base power, 88% accuracy, and 13 PP. The user attacks enemy in the front, possibly lowering their Special Defense by one level. This move is affected by Muzzled status condition.
In Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, the move now lowers Defense due to being reclassified as a physical move.
