Trivia
- Steven is the first Trainer who is a part of all three types of limited-time and scout-summonable sync pairs (i.e., fair-exclusive, seasonal, and Master).
- He is also one of a few Trainers to have two seasonal outfits.
- Excluding potentially Scottie and Bettie, Steven is also the first Trainer to form a sync pair with a Shiny Pokémon.
- Steven is even the first Trainer to have three unique sets of voice clips.
- Ignoring Scottie and Bettie, Steven is the first Trainer to form three strike sync pairs.
- During Hearts United, Steven makes a reference to Alain and his battle against a Rayquaza alongside him in Mega Evolution Special II, wishing to grow strong enough to surpass him alongside his Rayquaza partner.
- Steven's Rayquaza is the first Pokémon in Pokémon Masters EX whose Mega Evolution boosts neither its Attack nor Special Attack.
- It is also the first Pokémon in that game to have a 1.4× multiplier attached to its Mega Evolution (which is for its Speed).
Origin
Steven's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Metagross is Steven's signature Pokémon in the games, and is first seen Mega Evolving in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Metagross's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun
Alolan Sandslash's Dex entry come from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
Steven's Shiny Rayquaza may be a reference to a variety of Shiny event Rayquaza that were distributed in various regions during Generation VI's lifetime. Rayquaza's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Omega Ruby.
