Torkoal (Pokémon)

In All Torkoal, No Play, Ash caught a Torkoal after helping it defeat a Steelix that was picking on it in the Valley of Steel.

Torkoal debuted in Poetry Commotion!, under the ownership of Flannery. She used it in a Gym battle against Ash, during which it defeated Pikachu and Treecko before losing to Corphish. It reappeared in flashbacks in All Torkoal, No Play and Whiscash and Ash.

A Torkoal appeared in Eyes on the Goal!, under the ownership of the Shell Sage. It took part in a race with Team Rocket's Chewtle.

In The Keystone Pops!, a fantasy during Team Rocket's motto featured a Torkoal.

In Lights! Camera! Pika!, Frank's Torkoal helped in the making of his movie by blowing black smoke for effects.

In A Crowning Moment of Truth!, three Trainers' Torkoal attended the Wela Fire Festival‎.

In A Recipe for Success!, a Torkoal provided heat for Mallow so she could cook food at Oranguru's place. It reappeared in a flashback in Dreams of the Sun and Moon!.

In Battle Royal 151!, a Trainer's Torkoal competed in the Battle Royal preliminary round of the Manalo Conference but ended up losing.

In the Pokémon Masters Animated Trailer, a Trainer's Torkoal was in a town square in Pasio.

A Torkoal briefly appeared in GOTCHA!, under the ownership of Flannery.

Torkoal appeared as a card under the ownership of Manabu Kadoo.

In Adding It Up with Plusle & Minun II, a Torkoal appears as the main Pokémon of the Team Magma admin Tabitha, who trusts him enough to have him hold the Blue Orb while they were given an order to guard the artifact. Torkoal has the special ability to use his smoke to hypnotize and poison enemies.

The Battle Tower rented a Torkoal, which was stolen by Guile Hideout in The Final Battle VII.

A Torkoal appeared in PS585.

Torkoal was seen under the ownership of a Team Galactic Grunt in A Surprise Visit from Hareta's Father!.

• Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky: Old wise Torkoal is the town elder and the Pokémon in charge of the Hot Spring. Later in the story, the player and partner have to use his wisdom and ask him what he knows about the Hidden Land and visits the Guild to tell them what he remembers and confirms that the Relic Fragment is the key to visiting the Hidden Land.

Torkoal is available in Sword and Shield and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Torkoal resembles an orange tortoise. It also resembles a furnace or a kitchen stove with four openings within its shell. Additionally, its shell appears to be reminiscent of a lump of burning coal.

Torkoal and Cotoise are a combination of tortoise and coal.
