According to Meyer and Tagliavini from mbar (“I bring (back)”) (mbar +‎ -oj). Related to Albanian mbarë (“good, right, complete, wholly, etc.”), further related to mbart (“I bear, carry (back)”), Albanian mbaj (“I hold, carry”) and bie (“I bring”).[1]

Orel proposed it as a (prefixal) derivative of parë.[2]
