Guts (Japanese: こんじょう Guts) is an Ability introduced in Generation III.

Boosts Attack if there is a status problem.
Generation VI
Boosts the Attack stat if the Pokémon has a status condition.
Generation VII
It's so gutsy that having a status condition boosts the Pokémon's Attack stat.
Generation VIII
It's so gutsy that having a status condition boosts the Pokémon's Attack stat.

Effect

In battle

While a Pokémon with this Ability has a status condition, its Attack is increased by 50%. Additionally, a Pokémon with this Ability does not lose Attack due to burn.

Generations III and IV

The Attack boost from Guts is activated if a Pokémon is frozen and uses a move which thaws it out, such as Flame Wheel or Flare Blitz.

Generation V

The Attack boost from Guts no longer activates if a Pokémon is frozen and uses a move which thaws it out, such as Flame Wheel or Flare Blitz.

Outside of battle

Guts has no effect outside of battle.
