I changed the hot end from the stock Creality CR-10 v2 to an e3D v6. Since it uses a type 5 thermistor, I had to change the firmware; after a quick search I found the TH3D firmware which I used, I did a PID tuning, and began my first print. Halfway through, I got the E1 Printer halted error
. I restarted the printer and had a closer look at the temperatures, my hot end keeps fluctuating if is set my temp to 205 °C it reaches the target but shoots over to like 213 °C and then back to something like 197 °C and so on.
To fix it, I tried to:
- checked all connections
- Did another PID tune
- changed the thermistor cartridge (three times to this point)
- changed the heating cartridge
- resolved my hot end connections where I butt them together
- I used a different Marlin build
I have no clue what the problem is, at this point, I have the board in suspicion but I am not sure.
