postać pf (imperfective postawać)

1. (intransitive, archaic) used to emphasize that a person has never been or will never be in a particular place

   Jego noga więcej tu nie postanie. ― He is never setting foot in this house again.

Only the 3rd person forms are used.

postać pf

1. (intransitive) to stand for a while

   Postałem trochę w tej kolejce, ale zrezygnowałem zanim doszedłem do kasy. ― I had been standing in this line for a while, but I gave up before I got to the cash register.

2. (intransitive) to linger, to remain for a while

   Ta rudera postoi jeszcze z dziesięć lat. ― This shack will stand another ten years.

   Wstaw kwiaty do świeżej wody, a postoją jeszcze kilka dni. ― Put the flowers in fresh water and they will linger for a few more days.

The verbs postać and przestać mean more or less the same. The differences are that przestać always needs time markers and usually means completely still, while postać means standing in a small area, not necessarily still.
