Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *nemska, from Proto-Indo-European *nem 'to divide, to take, to arrange, to count'. Cognate to Greek νέμω (némo, to divide), Gothic niman (niman, to take), Latin numerus (member, element, number), nummus (coin, money)[1]. More and more replaced by the loanword numëroj.
