Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *nemska, from Proto-Indo-European *nem 'to divide, to take, to arrange, to count'. Cognate to Greek νέμω (némo, “to divide”), Gothic niman (niman, “to take”), Latin numerus (“member, element, number”), nummus (“coin, money”)[1]. More and more replaced by the loanword numëroj.
