Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *drūdz(i)ska, derived from *drūdza > drydhët.[1] Compare Lithuanian druska (“salt”). Alternatively, it might represent a prefixal derivative of Proto-Indo-European *h₁rewdʰ- (“red”), to be compared to Westrobothnian rosk (“id”).
