From Proto-Balto-Slavic *ak-, from Proto-Indo-European *h₃ókʷs. Compare Lithuanian akìs, ãkys (“eye; eyes”), Latvian acs, acis (“id.”), Old Prussian agins, ackis (“id.”).[1][2]
Alternatively, may be borrowed from Middle High German [Term?], cf. German Auge, Augen (“eye; eyes”).[1]
