Etymology
Some Proto-Turkic words that start with a vowel, can be compared to Proto-Mongolic initial-h, Proto-Tungusic initial-p. For example; Proto-Mongolic *hulaxan (“red”), Proto-Tungusic *pula (“red”) (cf. Manchu ᡶᡠᠯᡤᡳᠶᠠᠨ (fulgiyan), Mongolian улаан (ulaan); Proto-Mongolic *hüker (“ox”), Proto-Tungusic *pukur (“cow”), Proto-Turkic *öküŕ (“ox”) etc.
