Yash Raj Films, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif officially announced Tiger 3 on 4 March 2022 on their social media accounts, revealing the release date with an announcement video.[6][7]

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif officially joined the production in February 2021.[8] Ranvir Shorey joined the cast in April 2021, thus reprising his role as Gopi Arya from Ek Tha Tiger.[9] Vishal Jethwa joined the cast in October 2021.[10] Emraan Hashmi was cast in January 2022.[11] Revathi and Riddhi Dogra joined the cast in November 2022.[12][13] Shah Rukh Khan was confirmed to make a cameo appearance in November 2022[14] and joined the cast in April 2023,[15] thus reprising his role as Pathaan.

Principal photography of the film began in March 2021 with the commencement of the first schedule at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The first schedule of the film was wrapped up in April 2021. The second schedule of filming began in said city at Yash Raj Studios in July 2021 and ended in August 2021. In August 2021, First overseas schedule began in Saint Petersburg, Russia where a chase sequence was shot.[16] On 29 August 2021, Second overseas schedule began in Turkey. Filming took place in Istanbul, Antalya followed by a song shoot in Cappadocia.[17] A chase sequence was also shot in Istanbul. Turkey schedule was wrapped on 12 September 2021. On 16 September 2021, third and the last overseas schedule began in Austria.[18] Filming took place in Salzburg, Altaussee and Vienna.[19] A romantic song was also shot in this schedule.[20] Austria schedule was wrapped on 27 September 2021. In October 2021, in Mumbai filming took place at Yash Raj Studios followed by at SRPF Ground Goregaon in December 2021.[21] In February 2022, a small schedule was shot in Yash Raj Studios followed by the climax of the film in New Delhi. In New Delhi schedule, filming took place at Noida International University, The Imperial and Maidens Hotel.[22] In April 2023, a schedule involving Shah Rukh Khan will be shot in Mumbai.[23][24]
