Rob Taylor (Formula One)

Rob Taylor (born 23 April 1959)[1] is a British engineer who is the technical director of the American Formula One team Haas F1 Team.

Career

In 1987 he started working for the engine manufacturer Cosworth, two years later he got a job in F1 and for Benetton. In 1992 he moved on and this time to Scuderia Ferrari as a designer. Five years later, he changed stables to Arrows and continued to work with similar duties. In 2002 he joined Jaguar Racing and remained there even after Austrian energy drink manufacturer Red Bull bought the team in late 2004. Taylor was the chief designer of Red Bull and sister team Toro Rosso's first F1 cars. In 2006 he chose to leave Red Bull and became a designer at McLaren, a position he held until 2010. After that he was deputy chief designer at Virgin Racing/Marussia/Manor until 2015 when he was recruited to Haas.[2]
