Plot
2000 years ago, five heroes, armed with the power of giant mechanical deities called the Shugods capable of forming the giant mecha King-Ohger, fought and defeated the Underground Empire Bugnarak. After the battle, the heroes went their separate ways and founded five kingdoms: Shugoddam, Nkosopa, Ishabana, Gokkan, and Toufu.
In the present, the current rulers uncover a prophecy stating Bugnarak would soon return and attempt to conquer the world again. As they gather their forces and begin negotiations for an alliance, the king of Shugoddam, Raclues Hastie, announces his intention to conquer the other four kingdoms at the expense of his subjects. In retaliation, his brother and crown prince, Gira, steals his Ohger Calibur, the symbol of his authority, and declares himself the new king. Despite being branded a traitor for challenging his brother, Gira joins forces with the other rulers, President Yanma Gust of Nkosopa, Queen Himeno Ran of Ishabana, Rita Kaniska, sovereign of Gokkan, and Lord Kaguragi Dybowski of Toufu to save the world from Bugnarak and thwart Racules' ambitions.[1]

Notes
