Mohd Sany Abdul Ghaffar

General Mohd Sany bin Abdul Ghaffar (19 January 1926 – 22 August 2015) was the 6th Chief of Defence Forces of Malaysia.[1]

In this Malay name, there is no family name. The name Abdul Ghaffar is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by the given name, Mohd Sany. The Arabic-derived word "bin" or "binti"/"binte", if used, means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.

Death

Mohd Sany died on 22 August 2015 and was buried at the Armed Forces cemetery in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.[2]
