Melanie Barcenas
Melanie Barcenas (born October 30, 2007)[1] is an American soccer player for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). In 2023, she became the youngest player ever to sign with an NWSL team, at the age of 15 years and 138 days.

Club career
Early career
Born and raised in San Diego, Barcenas played during her youth career with San Diego Surf SC.[2][3]
San Diego Wave
On March 21, 2023, Barcenas signed with San Diego Wave FC at the age of 15 years and 138 days. This contract made her the youngest ever NWSL signee, breaking the record set by Chloe Ricketts earlier in the month (15 years and 283 days).[3]
International career
In February 2023, Barcenas played in two exhibition games with the United States national under-17 team.[3]
