List of Ninjago episodes

Ninjago (previously known as Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu until 2019) is a computer-animated television series. The show was produced by Wil Film ApS from the pilot episodes until the tenth season and by WildBrain Studios for the last five seasons. It is distributed by The Lego Group. It was created to coincide with the Lego Ninjago construction toys, and centres on the fictional world of Ninjago, telling the story of a group of teenage ninja and their battles against the forces of evil.

The pilot episodes were aired in January 2011, coinciding with the launch of the Lego Ninjago toy line. Their popularity led to the commissioning of the first two full seasons (Rise of the Snakes and Legacy of the Green Ninja), which each consisted of 13 episodes. The first season aired on 2 December 2011.[1] Both the Lego theme and the TV series had an intended shelf life of three years, so it was expected that the second season would be the last. However, after feedback from fans, it was soon revived and it continued for ten more years.[2] In 2017, a film adaptation of the series, The Lego Ninjago Movie, was released. In the eighth season of the show in 2018, the animation software of the show was updated and new character designs and aesthetics were adopted from the film. Despite these aesthetic changes, the eighth season continued the story of the previous seasons instead of the film's rebooted storyline. With the release of the eleventh season in 2019, the show dropped the "Masters of Spinjitzu" subtitle and switched from a 22-minute format to an 11-minute running time.[3] In total, 15 seasons were produced,[4] along with two pilot episodes, several mini movies, a special, a four-episode miniseries, and a theme park movie.[2]

A portal to an unknown realm is created in the process, which Garmadon uses to escape the Underworld. They ask Cole's father to train them, the leader of one particularly famous dance troupe, the “Royal Blacksmiths”, who turns out to be more demanding than Sensei Wu. Lacking confidence in their chances, Cole contemplates stealing the cup, but is berated by his father and decides to make him proud by winning the cup. The Ninja must fight to save Ninjago. In the end, only Lord Garmadon, using the Four Golden Weapons, can destroy the Great Devourer. They distract the Ninjas who are busy with their work, while Skales sneaks into to the Ninjas' apartment, but he is captured and arrested. Lord Garmadon and the Serpentine fly to the Golden Peaks and he fuses the Weapons together into a Mega Weapon.

The pirates lock up Garmadon and the Serpentine and attack Ninjago City. Dareth, dressed as the Brown Ninja, jumps on board and is captured. At the school, the Ninjas escape only to come face to face with the Evil Ninjas. Lloyd persuades his former classmates to admit to their inner goodness, and together, they discover a way for the Ninjas to defeat their evil counterparts.

Lloyd uses the tea to defeat the Grundle and return the Ninja to normal, but is aged up in the process.

The present Ninja arrive and fight back, and destroy the Mega Weapon using the past Golden Weapons. The destruction of the Mega Weapon restores the timeline.

The Ninja return to the Temple of Light, where they find the First Spinjitzu Master's battle mech. With the help of the mech and the Ultra-Dragon, the group flies back to Ninjago City. The Overlord, now morphed into a dragon, has conquered the city completely. The Ninja are outnumbered by the Stone Army, but Dareth saves them by recovering the discarded Helmet of Shadows, and forcing the Stone Warriors to stand down. The Ninja climb the Overlord's tower, with only Lloyd reaching the top. Lloyd summons the Golden Dragon and defeats the Overlord, freeing the city from his control, and purging his father of the corruption.

The Overlord however reemerges, having survived in the Digiverse and takes over all technology. Cyrus Borg gives the ninja the Techno-Blades and new suits, before both him and Sensei Wu are captured. Borg's assistant, a robot named P.I.X.A.L, begins the production of a nindroid army for the Overlord.

The Overlord's code is saved by a mysterious hooded figure who claims to be an ally. At the Junkyard, they are attacked by the hooded figure and a corrupted Sensei Wu. Wu and the hooded figure are defeated, the latter leaving behind a white scale. In the meantime, Lloyd and his father head for Hiroshi's Labyrinth to hide from the Overlord's forces.

They take refuge in the Temple of Fortitude, and devise a plan to shrink the overlord with a pill. The plan fails when Pythor swallows the pill instead, and the Ninjas are subdued. Zane overloads his power source, sacrificing himself to destroy the Golden Master. A memorial service is held for Zane, but P.I.X.A.L. finds out that his consciousness has survived.

As the tournament continues, Griffin defeats Gravis, Neuro defeats Bolobo, and Kai defeats Ash, each obtaining a Jade Blade and moving on. The Ninja try to get help from Neuro, who fails to break into Chen's quarters but nevertheless learns that Chen is planning to steal everyone's powers for a spell. When Cole and Jay are pitted against each other, Cole forfeits and gives up the Jade Blade to Jay.

In the meantime, Nya uses her new vehicle to locate Chen's island to find the ninja, but Dareth ends up coming along. The elemental masters are given roller skates in an event called Thunderblade, where Lloyd and Camille, Master of Form, must complete as many laps as possible while carrying a Jade Blade, with the remaining elemental masters racing along to help them or slow them down. The ninja spread the news about Chen's plans among the other elemental masters, who choose to help Lloyd and overwhelm Camille. Camille crosses the finish line before Lloyd, but ends up dropping her Jade Blade, leading to Lloyd's victory. The ninja earn the trust of several other contestants.

The Elemental Masters intercept them, realizing too late that they have fallen for a diversion as the bulk of Chen's anacondrai warriors are attacking Ninjago City.

The spell however requires somebody else to be banished as well. Garmadon sacrifices himself, feeling he must make amends for wronging his own family back when he was under Chen's tutelage, and releases the Anacondrai spirits. Chen and his army are spirited away into the cursed realm, and Garmadon is banished along with them. The Ninja burn the Spellbook and build a memorial to Garmadon in the Corridor of Elders. A ghost is shown having escaped the Cursed Realm, foreshadowing the following season.

Wu reveals that Kai and Nya's mother Maya was the Master of Water, just as their father was the Master of Fire and that Nya has the potential to succeed her.

Meanwhile, Sensei Wu trains Nya to control water, and discovers that her weakness is fear of being weak and helpless.

Morro tries to tempt Lloyd with the promise of releasing his father from the Cursed Realm. Lloyd hesitates, giving time for the Preeminent to be unleashed, while he himself is banished. Part II: In the Cursed Realm, Lloyd meets his father, who helps him escape, and he fights Morro across multiple realms, including a realm called "Chima". The Ninja try to stop the preeminent, but it proves to be too powerful. The ghost army is also infinite, since any ghost they kill just reemerges from the Cursed Realm through the Preeminent. The Ninja evacuate Stiix, while Nya unlocks her true potential and drowning the Preeminent. Wu tries to save Morro, but the ghost chooses to drown instead, and passes on to the departed realm with the other ghosts. Using the Realm Crystal, the Ninja bring back Lloyd, who follows in his father's footsteps and becomes a master. This episode includes a crossover with Legends of Chima.

Nadakhan learns of the fate of his crew of Sky Pirates, and captures Sensei Wu using the same tricks he used on Clouse.

Soto reveals that he was the one who trapped Nadakhan inside the Teapot of Tyrahn, after first using Tiger Widow venom to weaken him. The Ninja break out of prison with Soto's help.

The Ninja recover a lantern from Nadakhan's ship, the Misfortune's Keep, which contains a map to the lair of the Tiger Widow.

Jay is taken to the Misfortune's Keep, but Nya reveals that Nadakhan emptied out the wrong canister.

Jay tries to convince Flintlocke that Nadakhan is only using him and the other pirates, and at first, the pirates appear to believe him, and help him escape and steal the Djinn Blade, but this turns out to be yet another one of Nadakhan's mind-games. Meanwhile, Ronin and the Police Commissioner rescue the Ninjas from Tiger Widow Island, the latter apologizing fot distrusting them earlier.

Jay managed to smuggle out a message to the other Ninja, who come up with a plan to infiltrate the Sky Pirates in an attempt to save Jay and defeat Nadakhan. Nadakhan invites Nya to a feast and tries to convince her to marry him. The Ninja begin making wishes to turn Nadakhan's powers to their own advantage, as the djinn must grant any wish he hears only having the freedom to exploit loopholes in their wording. Cole and Lloyd are trapped in the Djinn Blade, but not before Lloyd, who previously wished to be as wise as Master Wu, sends Jay and Nya off into the clouds, telling Jay that he can fix everything with a wish coming from the heart.

The Sky Pirates arrive, and Jay and Nya attempt to use Travellers' Tea, but they only have enough for one of them. Nya tells Jay that since he has the last wish, he needs to remain safe, and pushes him through the portal, while she herself is taken prisoner.

Jay gives the venom dart to Flintlocke while the Ninja confront Nadakhan and Nya, whom Nadakhan turned into a reincarnation of his true love, Dilara. The Ninja manage to get Nadakhan out in the open, allowing Flintlocke to shoot him. The dart hits Nadakhan but a drop of the venom spills on Nya, killing her. A grieving Jay wishes that the Teapot of Tyrahn was never found in the first place. As it is a wish coming from the heart, the paralyzed Nadakhan grants it in good faith, reversing the events of Skybound, but leaving Jay's and Nya's memories intact. The season ends with Jay and Nya embracing, while Clouse is discovered by the people of Stiix and is prevented from recovering the Teapot.

On the Day of the Departed, Cole realizes his ghostly form is fading away, so he goes to Yang's Temple, but accidentally opens a passage to the Departed Realm, reviving the Ninja's old enemies (Samukai, Pythor, Kozu, Cryptor, Chen, and Morro) via mannequins in the Hall of Villainy. Yang orders the villains to go after the Ninja and curse them to take their place in the Departed Realm. Cole finds that Yang is trying to resurrect himself using the Rift of Return. Morro, instead of fighting Wu, warns him of Yang's plan. The Ninja defeat their adversaries, reunite and set off to Yang's temple. Yang tells Cole he wanted to be immortal so he wouldn't be forgotten, but Cole assures Yang he'll be remembered as the creator of Airjitzu. Cole crosses through the rift and becomes a human once more, but the rift almost closes the moment he crosses through it, giving him a ghostly green scar on his face.

He then meets up with Dr. Saunders, who is revealed to be none other than Krux.

Meanwhile, the reunited Acronix and Krux embark on their plan to conquer Ninjago, which involves unleashing the Vermillion warriors, humanoid warriors made up of snakes, joined together in suits of armor. One is sent to abduct Cyrus Borg at his new product launch, and two more are unleashed when the Ninja arrive to save him, with Acronix and Krux abducting Borg after Zane tries to take him to safety. The Vermillion keep the other Ninja occupied.

Its powers allow them to hold the Ninja at bay until Jay arrives on his new bike, which he and his father built. The Ninja succeed in recovering the blade and escaping, but Machia and the Hands of Time are determined to take it back.

Though the thief doesn't reveal their identity and changes their voice to sound like different people, Nya is convinced by their conviction and skills (and the mistaken belief that the person is Skylor) to pass on the mantle of Samurai X to them. Meanwhile, the other four Ninja search the sewers of Ninjago for the Time Twins' lair after discovering their lab and encounter Skales, who reveals that the Vermillion are the progeny of the Great Devourer.

Kai is determined to track down and confront his father, Ray, while Zane, still struggling with P.I.X.A.L.'s absence, searches for Borg and Lloyd goes looking for Wu. While the Time Twins are busy retrieving the third Time Blade, Cole and Jay find the prisoners, including Karlof, Lou, and the Royal Blacksmiths. Lloyd finds Wu under guard by Raggmunk and Blunck, who are bemoaning Machia's recent promotion over them, but fails to rescue him. Kai confronts his father, believing him to be a traitor, only to be stopped by his mother and Nya. The siblings learn that Krux, after returning to Ninjago alone, forced their parents into aiding him against their will. It is soon revealed that the Time Twins' plan involves a weapon known as the Iron Doom, built using Ray's metalworking, and Borg's technology, that can use the power of the Time Blades to travel through time. Before they can act to stop it, the Time Twins and their forces return, and force Kai and Nya to help them to retrieve the final Time Blade from its hiding place.

Meanwhile, Lloyd and the others set out to rescue Cyrus Borg, who installed a self-destruct feature on the Iron Doom. In an ensuing battle with Blunck and Raggmunk's Vermillion warriors, the Ninja are joined by Samurai X, who hacked into Zane's sensors to track them down and also seeks to rescue Borg. Kai and Nya succeed in retrieving the blade, only to lose it to Acronix and Krux after Ray is struck with a Time Punch. Kai, Nya, their parents, and Wu are then left falling to their doom but are saved by the Fusion Dragon. The Time Twins return to their base, and after thwarting Borg's sabotage order all their forces into the Iron Doom, which then enters a temporal vortex with the Fusion Dragon in hot pursuit.

Left in the present, Maya and a rapidly aging Ray meet up with Borg, Samurai X, and the remaining Ninja while Kai and Nya and Wu have boarded the Iron Doom, which soon arrives in Ninjago's past just after the Time Twins' original defeat, and unleashes the Vermillion on the victorious Elemental Masters. Doing their best to mitigate any damage to the past without causing more, Kai and Nya impersonate their parents to join a young Wu and his allies in battle, but the Vermillion snakes to merge with Iron Doom itself, animating it, and allowing it to defeat the past Elemental Masters, resulting in a present where no technology exists. Kai and Nya form the Fusion Dragon once again to attack, but Kai is defeated after Nya leaves for unspecified reasons. The Hands of Time decide to depart for the distant future so that they won't have to continue dealing with their interference. Having found the Reversal Blade in the past, prior to it being hidden in the Boiling Sea, Nya uses it to restore Wu's health, and with Kai's help they use it to reverse time, enabling them to board the Iron Doom while leaving the Reversal Blade with young Wu. A battle aboard the Iron Doom ends with Wu removing the Reversal Blade, which sets the Iron Doom adrift in time, and giving it to Kai and Nya, who are then dropped in the present where they use it to save their father. With Wu having been lost in time, staying on board the Iron Doom to fight Krux and Acronix, Lloyd is declared the new master.

P.I.X.A.L. reveals herself to be Samurai X just before her hacked mech attacks. Meanwhile, Zane wakes up and destroys the spider, but the Bounty crashes into the jungle. Lloyd and Harumi venture into the Primeval's Eye to find the final Oni Mask.

They manage to escape from the monster and fall down the waterfall, where they find the Oni Temple.

He eventually defeats Harumi in battle, but she grabs the Oni Mask and uses it to defeat Lloyd, before leaving the temple. Meanwhile, the Ninja have been tied up by the Sons of Garmadon, who have taken over the Bounty and use it to arrive at the Oni Temple, but they manage to break free. As the Ninja and the Sons of Garmadon prepare to fight, they are attacked by the underwater monster. The Sons of Garmadon escape aboard the Bounty with all Oni Masks and Lloyd, while the other Ninja are left to deal with the monster.

The Ninja manage to use Spinjitzu to close the portal and defeat the Sons of Garmadon. However, the ceremony has been completed, allowing Garmadon to return to Ninjago. However, things don't go as good as planned when Harumi escapes and goes to warn Garmadon.

In Ninjago, after being discovered, Mistaké reveals her true Oni nature to Garmadon and confronts him, allowing Skylor to borrow his powers and escape, while she is presumably killed. Skylor struggles with Garmadon over the control of Colossus, but she ends up "poisoned" and Colossus accidentally destroys a building full of people. Harumi goes inside and rescues a family, but the building collapses and she dies. This angers Garmadon, who swears to destroy Lloyd and the entire Ninjago City.

After Harumi's death, Garmadon angrily begins destroying the entire Ninjago City with Colossus, while Lloyd and the others head to a more remote side of the city, waiting for Wu and the other Ninja to return. In the Realm of Oni and Dragons, the Dragon Hunters release the Ninja and Faith after realising that Iron Baron showed his true colors and cares only about himself. Meanwhile, Wu takes Iron Baron to the Firstbourne Dragon's nest, where he dons the Dragon Armor. However, the Firstbourne senses the evil in him and attacks, trapping him in molten rock and leaving him to die. Wu then finds the Armor and becomes the Golden Dragon Master, riding the Firstbourne back to the Ninja and the Dragon Hunters. Faith decides to remain here to lead the Hunters and try making the Realm a better place, while Wu and the Ninja ride each a dragon back home... back to Ninjago!

Wu and the four Ninja are finally back home and reunite with their friends. The Elemental Masters and the Ninja's other allies escape from Kryptarium prison and help the Ninja defeat Colossus, while Garmadon defeats Wu and the Firstbourne Dragon, leaving only Lloyd to fight him. After understanding that fighting is what gives Garmadon his powers, Lloyd stops fighting him and just "resists him" instead, by using the Art of the Silent Fist, which causes Garmadon to slowly lose all his powers and Lloyd to restore his and next is his Golden Power. However, although Garmadon is finally defeated, he warns Lloyd that his powers were the only thing strong enough to prevent some dark forces from attacking Ninjago, and now that they're gone, "they" will come and destroy everything. In the aftermath of the battle, Colossus gets destroyed and all the Sons of Garmadon, including Garmadon, are arrested; Skylor gets back to normal health who wakes up tended by Kai and after her health is restored; and the people of Ninjago celebrate the Ninja and their allies. Some time later, Lloyd meets with Wu, now back to his normal age, who tells him that the Firstbourne and the other dragons have to return to The First Realm, and will return only when they'll be needed again. Lloyd then tells Wu about his father's warnings and, after learning that all the Oni are gone from The First Realm, concludes that "they" means the Oni, and that "they" are coming. The Fold Band appear as Lego band singing The Weekend Whip.

Put to shame by the chicken, the ninja ultimately realize: Wu is right. They have gone soft. They decide to take on a new quest to get back in ninja-shape.

It's a mysterious new villain called Unagami, for whom the Mechanic seems to be working. Meanwhile, Jay accidentally triggers an energy pulse that converts all of the arcade games in Ninjago City into Prime Empire arcade games.

As the police rush to comply, the ninja head off to Dyer Island, an island outside Ninjago City, where they hope to find Milton Dyer, the creator of Prime Empire. On Dyer Island, the ninja instead meet Bob the Intern, who used to work for Dyer. Bob explains that Prime Empire was a project that was shut down by the company Dyer worked for because it was too dangerous, and that Milton Dyer vowed to get revenge on the gaming industry afterward. The ninja then conclude that Dyer must be Unagami.

Unagami hacks the security system and releases the prisoners, ordering them to get the Prime Empire arcade game back from the ninja. Mechanic, Ultra Violet, and Captain Soto escape, rush to Borg Tower and begin their assault, fighting their way past the building's security systems to reach the 100th floor. Borg tells the ninja that there is only one way to release the trapped players - by stopping Unagami. Cole plays the arcade game and tries to reach Level Thirteen. He does successfully, and the ninja enter the game.

The ninja are initially confused but soon discover that during Jay's time in the game, he amassed a following of fans who have devoted themselves to his "teachings". The League of Jays helps the ninja escape from the Red Visors and leads them to Scott, the race car mechanic. As they cross the marketplace, the ninja make several discoveries. They learn that their ninja skills don't work in this digital world. Skills can only be bought or earned by playing the game. They then learn they have four lives, and when they lose those lives, they will be converted into energy cubes and whisked away by flying drones.

Okino is a serious, duty-bound Samurai warrior who is unaware that Prime Empire is a game, since he is part of it. Unfortunately, the game is rigged to be nearly impossible and Okino quickly fails his masters, who are dematerialized into cubes of energy. As more and more masters are "cubed", Okino begins to lose faith in his abilities. One day, Okino meets another Samurai like himself who is more successful in keeping her master alive. Okino internalizes this as a fault of his own so he trains and pushes himself as never before. Despite all his efforts, he loses more masters. Okino prepares to abandon his responsibilities when a final group of travellers arrive, seeking his help. It is the ninja.

The Samurai guide, Okino, leads the ninja into the first of Terra Karana's deadly challenges: The Forest of Discontent, made up of deep, dark woods, filled with booby-traps. There, they are ambushed by the Whack Rats but the ninja are able to fight them off. Lloyd ties up the leader, a rat named Richie. In order to procure his release, Richie tells Lloyd that he knows about a "glitch" in the game, which will allow the ninja to bypass the rest of the booby-traps and reach the other side of the Forest. Okino soon realizes Prime Empire is not a real place, merely a simulation and he is part of it. Lloyd releases Ritchie, who guides the ninja to the glitch and into an ambush by Red Visors. Okino comes to their rescue and helps the ninja escape.

The ninja arrive at the Cliffs of Hysteria where they meet Shifty, a merchant who runs a table at the base of the cliffs. Shifty sells the ninja some grappling hooks and rope. Unfortunately, the ninja don't have enough money to buy the "Rope of Supreme Durability" and opt instead for the "Rope of Questionable Integrity". Even worse, as they are buying the rope, they are spotted by one of Unagami's aerial drones. A squadron of Red Visors quickly arrives and pursues the ninja up the cliffs. The ninja, who only have ropes, must climb while the Red Visors have jet-boots and are able to catch up quickly. During the ensuing battle, Cole is nearly lost, but is saved at the last moment by Kai, who makes a daring leap onto the back of the flying drone and uses the drone to blast the Red Visors. They learn that Unagami is using the energy cubes to build a portal into Ninjago City.

He appears before Okino, urging Okino to betray the ninja and not help them against the fearsome Red Dragon that awaits the ninja at the heart of the maze. If Okino betrays them, Unagami promises to bring him with into the real world. He then disappears and restores the ninja back to normal. The ninja arrive at the heart of the maze and find themselves outmatched by the Red Dragon, and appeal to Okino for help. Okino struggles with his decision but cannot in good conscience betray the ninja. He defies Unagami, his creator, and helps the ninja defeat the Red Dragon by revealing its weakness: a scale on its chest. The ninja defeat the dragon and Jay delivers the final blow. The Red Dragon changes colour and vanishes into an amulet. The ninja then continue their quest.

Wu manages to activate a GPS location tracker, which reveals his location to P.I.X.A.L. However, she and Dyer arrive too late. Zane is hooked up to the Manifestation Gate as a type of processor, causing him to pass out as a result of the energy surge caused by the gate.

Dyer explains to Unagami why he shut him down and that chaos and destruction was not what he was made for. Eventually, Unagami understands. He takes the form of a small child and agrees to set everyone trapped inside Prime Empire free, including the other ninja, the trapped players, Scott, and the NPCs. Jay, Zane, P.I.X.A.L., and Wu reunite with the other ninja while Unagami and Milton Dyer live happily together.

But then Grief-Bringer forces his way into the cave. Left with no other choice, the ninja surrender themselves up but not before the Skull Sorcerer imprisonments all of the Geckles and the Munce.

Cole discovers that the stone-mech is powered by Elemental Earth energy and uses his powers to activate the mech. Grief-Bringer awakens and joins the fight, and all looks lost. But at the last minute, Cole manages to uses the Spinjitzu Burst and defeats the Skull Sorcerer. After his defeat Vania has now proclaimed herself the Queen of Shintaro while the ninja leave the Ivory City, seeking a new adventure on their path. Wu states that he would rather continue and go wherever the wind takes them.

Wu's Teas is a series of twenty Ninjago shorts. It focuses on Wu's new tea shop, "Steeper Wisdom", and their rivalry with the coffee shop. Lego Ninjago: Master of the 4th Dimension is a 12-minute 3D/4D animated short film first released on 12 January 2018 in Legoland theme parks.[97] The short follows Wu trying to teach the ninja a lesson in perspective. The short marks the last time the ninjas' original designs prior to season 8 were used, as well as the first time where Sam Vincent voices Lloyd, replacing Jillian Michaels after seven seasons.
