Ice Scales (Japanese: こおりのりんぷん Ice Scales) is an Ability introduced in Generation VIII. It is the signature Ability of Snom and Frosmoth.

The Pokémon is protected by ice scales, which halve the damage taken from special moves.

Effect

In battle

Ice Scales halves damage from special moves that hit Pokémon with this Ability, including from special moves that use the target's Defense stat (like Psyshock). It has no effect on moves that deal direct damage.

Outside of battle

Ice Scales has no effect outside of battle.
