Release date November 20, 2008

Information

The gift box includes four Half Decks, each of varying difficulty. Like the previous Entry Pack and Entry Pack '08 releases, the Half Decks are based on Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup and, as with the Entry Pack '08 DX, the fourth Half Deck is based on Pikachu. The Chimchar Half Deck is the easiest to play, followed by Turtwig, Piplup, and finally Pikachu, which is the most advanced to play.

The Pokémon Card Game DPt Gift Box also includes an illustrated beginner's guide, sheets of Damage and status counters, a case to contain additional counters, a playmat, a sheet of stickers, and a six-sided die with shaker.

Trivia

The Pikachu Half Deck contains one Holofoil and one non-Holofoil version of Pikachu. If this were to be counted as a different card, it would mean that the size of the Half Decks grows from 13, 14, 15, and 16 cards respectively (excluding basic Energy cards), indicating the difficulty increase in their play strategy.
