- A torture method, predominantly used in China, in which prisoners are forced to sit on a small iron bench with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead without movement for long periods of time while having bricks placed one at a time until their knee breaks or the strap breaks which in turn means tying up again and starting over until the individual cracks
