Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *writja, from Proto-Indo-European *wert- (to turn); cognate with Sanskrit वर्तते (vartate), Latin vertere, German werden (to become).[1] Alternatively, a derivative of rri.[2] according to Matasovic, the etymology is controversial and has no accepted source or substrate [3]
