From Ottoman Turkish معروضات (maruzat), plural of معروض (maruz), from Arabic مَعْرُوض‎ (maʿrūḍ), passive participle of عَرَضَ (ʿaraḍa, to appear, happen, show). Formally the Arabic plural of maruz.
