From Proto-Albanian *lubnaka, from Proto-Indo-European *leubh 'to peel, to skin'. Cognate to Lithuanian lubà (board (of a ceiling)), Latvian luba (bark, board), Prussian lubbo (board) and Slavic *lьbь 'forehead, skull'[1]
