Unadapted borrowing from Dutch accoord (“agreement, accord”), older spelling of akkoord, from Middle Dutch accoort, from Old French acorder (Modern French accord), from Vulgar Latin *accordō, accordāre (“to be heart to heart with”), formed from Latin ad + cor (“heart”). Doublet of akor and akur.
