  • According to the Standard Yoruba Orthography approved by the the Joint Consultative Committee on Education in June 1974, to show the reduplication of a nasal vowel and not a syllabic nasal, a hyphen should be inserted: aárùn-ún and not aárùnún. Nonetheless, the latter, in addition to aárùn, is still used.
