Petroskoi

Finnish

Much like Karelian Petroskoi, from Russian петровской (petrovskoj), based on Russian Петро́вская слобода́ (Petróvskaja slobodá), an earlier name for the town. The town is named after Peter the Great, who established a factory in the area in 1703, whence the current name in Russian, Петрозаво́дск (Petrozavódsk).
