- Originally, a youthful libertarian, anti-communist party founded in 1988 by young democrats. After 1994, it changed its political position from liberal to conservative. Today it is a major national conservative political party in Hungary named Fidesz – Magyar Polgári Szövetség (Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Alliance).
