FIP (plural FIPs)

1. (countable, Michigan, Northwest Indiana, derogatory) Acronym of fucking Illinois people; chiefly used by year-round inhabitants of tourist towns: a tourist to southwestern Michigan or northwestern Indiana lakeshore towns from the Chicago area; especially a wealthy such tourist.

     Some local teens have taken to calling the weekend tourists FIPs--short for "Fucking Illinois People." One can even buy a FIP T-shirt in, of all places, a New Buffalo clothing store owned by radio comedian Steve Dahl.
