From Proto-Finnic *-(i)cin. Related to Estonian -si and Livonian .

Suffix

-isin

  1. The case suffix denoting temporal distributive; always used with plural "-i-".
    aamu (morning) → aamuisin (in the mornings)
    maanantai (Monday) → maanantaisin (on Mondays)
    kesä (summer) → kesäisin (in the summers)
