Etymology

Unknown, probably from an independent Proto-Basque verb *erazi. The same -ra- verbal root is present in other verbs such as erabili (“to put into motion, to use”), from ibili (“to walk”).[1]

  1. Forms the causative, to make, to cause to do
    ‎agertu (“to appear”) + ‎-arazi → ‎agerrarazi (“to show”)

It is attached to the infinitive (or short stem form) of verbs.
