Velika Kruša
Krushë e Madhe (Serbian: Velika Kruša) is a village in the Rahovec municipality of western Kosovo.[lower-alpha 1] With a population of around 7,000, it is the second largest village in Kosovo.[2] During the Kosovo War, the village was a stronghold of the Kosovo Liberation Army.[3] On 25 March 1999, it was the site of a massacre by the Army of Serbia and Montenegro in which 205 Kosovo Albanian civilians were killed.[4]

Notes
- The political status of Kosovo is disputed. Having unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008, Kosovo is formally recognised as an independent state by 101 out of 193 (52.3%) UN member states (with another 13 recognising it at some point but then withdrawing their recognition), while Serbia continues to claim it as part of its own territory.
