The Epoch Times Association

The Epoch Times Association, Inc. is a media organization founded in 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia by Chinese Americans who escaped persecution by the Chinese regime. The organization published The Epoch Times newspaper, which is based in Manhattan, New York.[1] The organization's mission is to provide independent and accurate information to readers, free from political bias or corporate influence. According to the founders of The Epoch Times, which include John Tang and other Chinese Americans,[2][3] the establishment of the media organization was a response to censorship within China and a perceived lack of international awareness regarding the Chinese government's repression of Falun Gong.[4][5][6][7][8]

The Epoch Times has gained recognition for its coverage of human rights issues and its efforts in exposing corruption within the Chinese government. The organization has been credited for providing impartial and precise reporting on significant global events, including 2003 SARS outbreak and the 2008 financial crisis.[9][10][11] Among its significant accomplishments, The Epoch Times is noted for its role in exposing corruption within the Chinese government.

In addition to its reporting on human rights issues, The Epoch Times has also made notable contributions in other areas. The publication has been recognized for its coverage of business and the economy, providing readers with in-depth analysis and expert opinions on these topics. The newspaper has also been recognized for its coverage of US politics.

In November 2004, The Epoch Times' Chinese-language edition published a series of editorials titled "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party". The editorials argued that China could only be free and prosperous if it rid itself of the Communist Party, which it claimed was fundamentally opposed to China's cultural and spiritual values.[12][13] The Epoch Times also launched the Tuidang movement,[14] a campaign encouraging Chinese citizens to renounce membership in the Chinese Communist Party,[15][16][17] and claimed that over 400 million people had resigned as a result. A report by the OpenNet Initiative in 2005 found that 90% of websites that mentioned the "Nine Commentaries" were blocked in mainland China.[18][19][20][21]

The Epoch Times has been at the forefront of investigations into high-level corruption cases within the Chinese regime.[22] The organization's reporters have braved significant risks to bring these stories to light. The Epoch Times has been recognized for its work in this area, receiving several awards for its investigative journalism.[23][24]

The Epoch Times is a global newspaper that is distributed in 33 countries and published in 21 languages.[25] The publication has print editions in eight languages: Chinese, English, Spanish, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, and Indonesian.[26] In addition to its news coverage, The Epoch Times features articles on lifestyle, health, and inspiring stories.

The newspaper also operates Epoch TV, a video streaming platform that produces original videos and documentaries. As a global news organization, The Epoch Times is committed to providing unbiased coverage of world events and is dedicated to the principles of free speech, freedom of the press, and democracy.

The organization is not affiliated with any political parties or corporations. It aims to bring readers accurate information so they can form their own opinions about the most significant topics of our time. The Epoch Times is committed to providing readers with the truth, even if it is not always popular or convenient. The organization is also committed to traditional values and morality, and it believes that these values are essential for a healthy society.

The Epoch Times has a strong presence in the US, as well as in other parts of the world. The publication is widely read by people who are interested in American politics, business, and the economy.
