Sampson (horse)

Sampson was a Shire horse gelding, foaled in 1846 in Toddington Mills, Bedfordshire, England. According to Guinness World Records (2015) he was the tallest and heaviest horse ever recorded, at 219 centimetres (7 ft 2 in) tall or 21.25 hands.[1]

He was later renamed Mammoth.[1]

His peak weight was estimated at 3,359 lb (1,524 kg)[1]
