History

The origins of the R.T.I. company date back to May 1977, when the publishing masthead “R.T.I. S.p.A.” was registered in the press office of the court of Rome, with registered office in Rome, in via Parigi 11. There is no trace of the names of the founders, but it is, in any case, certain that the ownership of the share package refers to Alessandro and Carlo Perrone, the former already editor and director of Il Messaggero of Rome and owner at the time of Il Secolo XIX of Genoa. The president of the board of directors appears to be Pasquale Prunas, a journalist from Il Messaggero. In 1979 it began broadcasting as a local Roman television station, and from 1982 it joined the newborn national network Rete 4 of the Mondadori group. In 1984, with the acquisition of the latter network by Fininvest, R.T.I. was also incorporated into Silvio Berlusconi's Fininvest company.

Merged into Mediaset in 1996, it becomes the licensee company of the group's television concessions and is the only television company of the Mediaset Group to have its registered office in Rome, in Largo del Nazareno 8, while its management, administrative and operational headquarters are located in Cologno Monzese, in Viale Europa 44/46.

At the end of 2014, the ownership of The Space Cinema passed to the Vue Entertainment International group.[4]
