Offerton, Tyne and Wear
Offerton is a hamlet and former civil parish, now in the unparished area of Houghton le Spring, in the Sunderland district, in the county of Tyne and Wear, England. Situated about 4 miles west-southwest of Sunderland city centre. In 1961 the parish had a population of 133.[1]

History
Offerton was formerly a township in the parish of Houghton le-Spring,[2] from 1866 Offerton was a civil parish in its own right,[3] on 1 April 1967 the parish was abolished and merged with Houghton-le-Spring and Sunderland.[4]
