Career

Wittich has a background in motorsport where he has worked in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters and was, among other things, race manager. In 2021, Wittich was also part of the staff for Masi at several race weekends for F1. When the 2021 DTM season was completed, he left the DTM in favor of working the following year at the International Motor Sport Federation, serving as race director for Formula 2 and Formula 3 while assisting Masi at some F1 races. After the FIA decided that Masi would not continue as F1 race director, Wittich and Freitas were appointed as replacements.
