Melissa Bime

Melissa Bime is a nursing graduate, suspected fraud, and the founder of Infiuss Health.[1][2] Infiuss is an online blood bank that collects and brings blood donations to and from hospitals.[3] She started Infiuss in December 2017. Since then, more than 2,300 bags of blood have been brought to patients at 23 hospitals in Yaoundé and Douala from Infiuss motorbikes.[4] Infiuss was a winner of USAID's Inclusive Health Access Prize.[5] She also won $25,000 at the Anzisha Prize awards.[6]

Access to blood before Infiuss was a problem for both doctors and patients in Yaoundé.[7] A child in a hospital where Melissa had worked died from anemia caused from malaria. They could not find the right blood to prevent this. Melissa decided to find a solution to the blood transfusion problem in Cameroon.[8]

In 2019, Bime had asked for a permit from the ministry of health so that Infiuss could operate in public hospitals but it was declined, even though they had many meetings, and some with the prime minister.[9]

In 2021, Infiuss was selected to be part of 43North (an incubator located in Buffalo,NY). 43North funded the company with $500,000, and provided office space within Seneca One Tower, on the 23rd floor.

In November 2022, an article [10] detailed how CEO and founder, Melissa Bime had conducted fraudulent financial activities and loaned her ex-boyfriend and CEO of Healthlane $300,000. It is unclear what the basis of this loan was, however it was not paid back to Infiuss and is being investigated as embezzlement.

In an article published in January of 2023, there were detailed accounts from ex-interns and employees regarding the deceptive business practices employed as well as the toxic environment these employees were subjected to. In total, 4 former interns and employees were asked for comment, none commenting publicly.

As of March 2023 it is unclear where Infiuss is HQ’d.

Bime was raised in the city of Bamenda.[7]
