Laura Potts
Laura Potts is a political figure in Florida. She co-chairs The Green Party of Florida. As such, she holds a duty to grow the party, unite the County Affiliates of the state, and assist Green members running for public office- including Randy Toler, registered in Florida to run for President in 2024 as a Green.
Early life
Potts was raised on military bases in the United States and overseas. She was a member of the Girl Scouts of America and Troops On Foreign Soil from Brownies through Seniors and remains an Alumna.[1]
Career
Potts grew the global 501C3 non-profit, Kids For Peace by opening the first Missouri chapter in 2015, Kids For Peace Joplin. The chapter was active in the city of Joplin, Missouri and surrounding area until closing in 2019. The chapter sponsored multiple community events, some in cooperation with other organizations. The chapter was featured in local news stories on television and in print.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][8][10]
Potts registered as a member of the Green Party in San Diego, California in 1992. She moved to Missouri and was active first as a Democrat due to closed primaries - the Green Party not having achieved ballot access. When the Green Party did qualify for ballot access, Potts became an active, registered Green Party member. After moving to Florida, Potts was elected as one of two Co-Chairs of the Green Party of Florida.[11][12][13][14][15]
