Hussein Ammar

Hussein Ammar Ameen Al-Sawad (Arabic: حُسَيْن عَمَّار امِيْن السَّوَاد; born 18 August 1999) is a footballer who plays for Naft Al-Basra as a defender.[1] He is a youth international for Iraq.

International career

Ammar represented Iraq at under-23 level under Miroslav Soukup. He was first called up by Dick Advocaat for the first team in November 2022 for the World Cup qualifiers, then for the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, but got no appearances in them. He was called up by interim manager Radhi Shenaishil for the initial squad in September for the 2022 Jordan International Tournament, but was excluded from the squad later on. Finally, Jesús Casas called him up for the friendly match against Costa Rica but the game was abandoned on the day of the match, and Ammar participated in the intra-squad friendly that took place instead at the Basra International Stadium. He has been added to the final squad of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup
