Darren Paltrowitz is a native of Long Island, New York. Darren Paltrowitz began interning within the music industry while a student at John F. Kennedy High School.[1] Around this time, he also began contributing to a variety of local publications, including Under The Volcano[2] and Long Island Entertainment,[3] which he eventually became Editor-in-Chief of. While building up his writing portfolio, Paltrowitz also built up his credits. Since then, he has worked with a wide array of influential recording artists, including OK Go[4], They Might Be Giants[5], Mike Viola,[6] Tracy Bonham,[6] Loudness[7], Rachael Yamagata,[8] Lucy Woodward[9], Superdrag,[10] TNT (Norwegian band) [11] and Amanda Palmer.[12]

Darren Paltrowitz’ third book is slated for a January 2024 release via Backbeat Books, as titled “DLR Book: How David Lee Roth Changed The World”.[117][118] The book ties in with Paltrowitz’ co-hosting of “The DLR Cast” podcast[119] with Minnesota-based co-host Steve Roth. His previous book – as co-written with Ohio-based author D.X. Ferris—2019's “Good Advice From Professional Wrestling: Full Contact Life Lessons” featured a foreword by Diamond Dallas Page[120] and received praise from the likes of Bill Apter[121], Salina De La Renta[122], Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) and RJ Kruszynski[123].

Early life

Darren Paltrowitz was born on March 1, 1982 in Oceanside, Long Island, New York. He attended John [124]F. Kennedy High School where he began interning in the music industry. During this time, he also started contributing to various local publications such as Long Island Entertainment[3] and Under The Volcano,[125] eventually becoming Editor-in-Chief of Long Island Entertainment.[126]

Paltrowitz attended Hofstra University [127] for his undergraduate studies and later pursued a Masters Program at the University of Southern Mississippi-Hattiesburg.[128] While building his writing portfolio, he began working with a variety of influential recording artists such as OK Go, They Might Be Giants, Mike Viola, Tracy Bonham, Loudness,[129] Rachael Yamagata,[8] Lucy Woodward, Superdrag[130] and Amanda Palmer.[131]

Paltrowitz is a prolific interviewer and host and currently hosts the weekly "Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz" series, which started in 2018 as a podcast before becoming a TV series in 2020, The theme song to the series was composed by Paltrowitz with award-winning producer and Longwave singer Steve Schiltz, as inspired by Paltrowitz's wife Melissa.[132] The show is regularly aired on over 80 television stations, in addition to key podcast and digital outlets. Darren Paltrowitz is an author, host, and investigator with experience in the entertainment industry. With his latest book due for release soon and his show airing on over 80 stations as of April 2023, he regularly delivers stories and experiences to his audience.
