Chatrapathi (2023 film)

Chatrapathi is a 2023 upcoming Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed by V. V. Vinayak and produced by Jayantilal Gada under Pen India Limited.[2] It is an official remake of S. S. Rajamouli's 2005 Telugu film Chatrapathi featuring Prabhas.[3] The film stars Telugu actor Bellamkonda Sreenivas in his Hindi debut playing the titular role[4][5] alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha.[1][2] It is set to release on 12 May 2023.[1]

Premise

Chatrapathi is separated from his family by his jealous brother, where he winds up as bonded labourers. While searching for his mother, Chatrapathi rises up to become the saviour of the oppressed and people started referring as their messiah.

Production

Filming

Principal photography for the film commenced in 2021. The director of the original film, S. S. Rajamouli, came on set to give the muhurat shot.[9]

Release

Chatrapthi is planned to be released theatrically in India on 12 May 2023.[6]
