Biography

Brendan Martin graduated from the University at Albany’s Business school with a 4.0 GPA. He writes from his own experiences and what he went through growing up as a child. Martin is a rapper/songwriter who began establishing himself as a promising hip-hop artist in his hometown of Colonie, New York. He has opened up for Mac Miller, Lupe Fiasco, Big Sean, Young Jeezy, and Snoop Dogg.[6]

Brendan won T. Pain's "Motivated" competition,[7] and an online voting contest Hot 97 put on called "Who’s Next", receiving the highest number of online votes for the "Battle for the Best" competition at Sxsw which allowed the winner to perform at Hot 97's Summer Jam.[8]

In late 2011, B. Martin signed with Phase One Network, an imprint distributed through Sony/RED. Martin released his single "Swoosh" from "Music, Love, Enemies".[9] Unfortunately, he was not able to create or release any other singles as he had a falling out over business, money and management differences with his label, Phase One.

For the last 7 months of 2013, Brendan lived in Los Angeles and recorded a demo track featuring Kendrick Lamar and Juicy J.[10]. Unfortunately, the Kendrick Lamar verse was never cleared and the Juicy J verse was given to another Phase One Artists, 2 Pistols for his song called, "Greedy".

In 2021, he launched Purpose Driven Artists out of his bedroom apartment, an independent agency.[11]B Martin was featured on the song "Need Some Space" together with Norda and Senes in 2022.[12] B Martin co-wrote two other singles that were released that same day: "Sleeping With The Enemy", which he co-wrote with Grammy Award winner Lil Eddie. The song is produced by Canadian artists Setou & Senyo. Martin also co-produced/wrote "Keep You Saif", along with producer Krunk.[13]
