About

At AQUPT, we seek to restore the tradition of acquiring knowledge which was at the heart of the Islamic civilization. We aim to produce farsighted individuals who are firm in conviction and are leaders in innovation. We aim to restructure the contemporary paradigms of leadership and management in light of the Prophetic example; in order for students to engender the character traits of humility and service to humanity.

Al Qadir University Project Trust was established to set up a university and it has moved very quickly in this direction since its inception. In just two years of its existence, it has acquired land and purpose-built buildings, hired prestigious faculty and capable staff, and deployed infrastructure customized for a high quality educational set up. As per the regulations of Punjab Government Higher Education, affiliation with a public university is a necessary step for getting degree awarding status. Hence the Trust applied for and became an affiliate college of Government College University, Lahore.

Soon after, it took its first batch of students within two years of its inception. Two departments, one in Management Science and the other in Islamic Studies have already been established. Enrollment capacity is gradually increased to ensure quality students’ intake. Now that all conditions have been satisfied, application for Degree Awarding Institute Status has been put up with Punjab Higher Education Commission. The trust has appointed a Management Committee and a Dean comprising renowned educationists who have complete autonomy and authority to manage academic affairs of the trust.

A high percentage of students admitted last year received generous scholarships. The trust’s accounts are audited by qualified independent auditors for transparency. The trust welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the higher education landscape of the country by providing quality education at Al-Qadir.

Vission

A world where people reflect on the signs of Allah evident in the external world and within their inner being, where they seek guidance from the Holy Quran and the life of Holy Prophet ﷺ to achieve their full potential in serving Him and His creation.

Mission

  1. To study the external world according to the Islamic world view rooted deeply in knowledge based upon the unity of Allah or Tawhid
  2. To do research and knowledge dissemination as an Islamic liberal arts college excelling in the fields of humanities and social sciences
  3. To be a thought leader in traditional responses to modern challenges
  4. To develop professional excellence and character based on Islamic teachings

Founder's Message

Allah (SWT) elevated mankind above all other creations through the unique gift of reason. Human excellence is achieved when reason is channelized to understand and appreciate Allah (SWT) and His creation. Such was the practice of our ancestors, whose faith facilitated them in research and innovation which resulted in a thriving Islamic civilization. The institution of masjid served as a centre for worship, encompassing scholarship and learning in diverse fields of knowledge. It is important that we reclaim our past by engaging in intellectually-stimulating activities which enable constructive outcomes for the entire Ummah.

I believe at the heart of any societal evolution lies a spiritual and moral transformation of its people. Along with a firm grip on modern sciences, we want to nurture a prophetic character and develop leadership qualities in our students. Al-Qadir seeks to incorporate a framework of Tarbiyah, established through the Prophetic model, within its educational, research and training programmes. The framework of Tarbiyah preceded formal education in traditional societies which helped prepare and enable the hearts and minds of young people to grasp knowledge in the most beneficial of manners, for the pleasure of the Almighty alone. Tarbiyah also inculcates humility, integrity and a morally-upright character, which I believe must be an integral part of any educational project.

I believe that as humble servants of the Almighty, we must look towards our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who espoused a 3-dimensional personality with a sophisticated intellect, inspiring leadership qualities and a spiritually-illuminated and morally-upright soul. We must seek the purpose of this life through reflection and introspection and pursue a morally-guided path to realize our potential. It is my dream to recreate the Nizammiyya of Baghdad which produced and nurtured scholars like Imam Al-Ghazali, whose influence as a scholar of Islam is yet to be surpassed. I believe that with pure intentions and through Divine Providence, Al-Qadir can become a symbol of the revival of the lost tradition of research and scholarship in Islamic societies.
