Violin Tuning Peg Replacement

Twist the top peg to loosen the violin string.

Twist peg slowly clockwise to loosen string

Unhook the bottom end of the string from the fine tuners on the tailpiece.

Slowly untwist the peg in clockwise direction to remove the peg from the violin.

Clean peg or grab a new peg.

Use sharpener to size peg to the hole

Carefully remove string from violin

Twist peg back into hole to test size.

Once peg is in place re-attach string to peg hole.

Slowly rotate peg to have a better angle if trouble reattaching string occurs.

Re-hook bottom of string to fine tuners.

Once the peg is inserted, you may begin to twist the peg in the counterclockwise direction while in the hole and tighten the string.

Turn peg clockwise to create a higher pitch and counterclockwise to lower pitch.
