Introduction

For your safety and that of other motorists, promptly replace a non-working low beam headlight bulb.

This guide is based on a FIAT 500 III 1.2, but should be similar for all FIAT 500s.

    • Remove the cover by pulling the tab.

    • The cover is easy to remove, but take a good look at how it is secured so it can be reinstalled in the same orientation

    • Pinch and hold the bulb holder by its release tab and remove the holder and bulb from its housing.

    • Do this slowly; during reassembly you will have to put it back in the same position correctly.

    • While it's not important for a bulb you're going to dispose of, for new bulbs or a bulb you're going to reuse do not touch the glass with your bare hands. Oil from your skin can collect heat and result in failure of the glass envelope. If you do touch it by accident, clean it thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.

    • Hold the plastic bulb holder with one hand and remove the bulb by grasping it by the metal edges. Rock it back and forth to remove it.

    • Replace the defective bulb with one of the same model. The one shown here is an H7 12V 55W bulb.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow the instructions in reverse order.
