Introduction

This guide will show how to replace the Socket G2 CPU in your Latitude E6530 laptop.

    • Pull back the 2 battery tabs which are to the left and the right of the battery.

    • Use a paper towel or alcohol swab to clean the thermal paste from the heatsink & CPU.

    • Use a flathead screwdriver and turn the CPU lock counter-clockwise.

    • Remember to turn the CPU Lock clockwise when you install the new CPU! If you don't do this, the computer won't boot up.

    • Be VERY CAREFUL to NOT bend ANY pins on the CPU.
