Background Information
A Portable Hotspot, also known as a Tethering or phone-as-modem (PAM) device, is a portable battery-powered device that serves as a miniature portable router. These devices work by sharing a mobile device's internet connection with other computers that are connected through either a wireless LAN connection or a BlueTooth connection.
While standalone Hotspots exist, mobile phones offer Tethered internet access via the device's operating system.
