Background & Identification
The Nintendo Wii U Pro Controller, model number WUP-005, was released in 2012 and is bundled with the Wii U gaming console as well as sold separately. It is sold in white and black. It is a fairly new device in the gaming world but has proven to be a widely popular controller nevertheless. The design of this controller was based on attracting "hardcore" gamers with a more traditional design compared to the primary single-handed rectangular controller. The Wii U Pro controller is compatible with the current Wii U, generation 7, but not compatible with earlier generation Wii games or with the original Wii. It has two analog sticks, a digital d-pad, 10 digital face buttons, and four digital shoulder buttons.
