Tree Of Chumps (3.5e Equipment)

Tree Of Chumps: A mystical tree that can be found anywhere, at anytime, by any spellcaster. It is simply a tree, for chumps. The Tree can only be identified when the spellcaster has Detect Magic or the like cast. When going through the treasure found on a slain enemy, if you feel that you deserve any of the magical items and that no one else should know, the tree shows up. Often it is seen as a +10 Tree of Chumps, but can be of any plus and have any abilities you desire, for the abilities are just a clever distraction. The tree works best to distract the low intelligence party members, but if you succeed on a Bluff check opposed by another person's Sense Motive check, you can sometimes convince them that is is actually magical. At the DM's discretion, he can give the players a small reward for actually going to the tree (which should usually be quite large) and trying to take it. It can be extra effective if the tree is actually a Treant.

Note: This Tree came up in a campaign when our wizard decided that he wanted the Boots of Elven Kind, and the Cloak of The Bat...and all the rest of the treasure. My Barbarian and the Fighter both dashed to the tree trying to uproot it. He got the treasure, we got to hit things, and well, we all won.

CL <!-Caster level for creation-->; ; Market Price: Whatever the price of a tree of that kind and size would sell for.
