The Lemon (5e Subclass)
The Lemon
Warlock Subclass
The man stood in the distance. His cloak billowing and waving in the night. It was a lab coat. The outline of his clipboard was visible. A smirk on his face and his glasses shined a little. The man in front of the Doctor was panting. "Test failed. That was your last attempt pal." The panting man looked up. "Nonononono! There's been a mistake! There has to be! Pl-" The man began to slowly shift and shape, and soon there was no panting man, just a lemon. The Doctor picked it up and squished it like a grape. The failure of a test was death. And death is what they got.
- Flavors of Eldritch Blast
Starting at level 1 you gain the Eldritch Blast cantrip, gaining this if you do not already have it. If you do you gain another cantrip from the warlock spell list. When you cast Eldritch Blast you gain a bonus to damage equal to half your Charisma bonus. Your Eldritch Blast also smells slightly like citrus fruit (Which is your choice.)
- Dr. Lemon's Wild Ride
Additionally at level 1 you begin to manifest some of Dr. Lemon's chaotic energy. Whenever you cast Eldritch Blast roll from the Wild Blast Magic Table. When your Eldritch Blast gains extra beams you roll for each beam.
WILD MAGIC TABLE:
1: If your Eldritch Blast hits, all creatures in a 10ft radius with the origin being the hit creature must make a Dexterity Saving Throw against your Spell Save DC. On a fail they take 1d10 force damage for each beam fired.
2: A flying lemon appears within 5 feet of one creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you. At the end of the current turn, the lemon explodes, and each creature within 5 feet of it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d10 force damage.
3: It fires an additional beam of Eldritch Blast.
4: The Eldritch Blast targets you instead.
5: You know, sometimes things can spark out of control, you cast fireball as a 3rd level spell on yourself.
6: Your Eldritch Blast straight up fails.
7: You teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.
8: A spectral shield hovers near you for the next minute, granting you a +2 bonus to AC and immunity to Magic Missile.
9: You cast Confusion centered on yourself.
10: For the next minute, you regain 5 hit points at the start of each of your turns.
11: You can take one additional action immediately.
12: You become invisible for the next minute. During that time, other creatures can't hear you. The invisibility ends if you attack or cast a spell.
- Experimental Blast
Dr. Lemon has gifted you with a greater way to create chaos, a new type of blast. At 6th level, you may, at the start of your turn, fire a single beam of Eldritch Blast a number of times equal to your Charisma mod per long rest.
- Notes from Beyond Time
Dr. Lemon has blessed you with access to some of his notes. At 10th level, you pick a creature type, Aberration, Beast, Celestial, Construct, Dragon, Elemental, Fey, Fiend, Giant, Humanoid, Monstrosity, Ooze, Plant, or Undead. Whenever you hit the selected creature type with your Eldritch Blast you deal extra damage equal to your Charisma Modifier.
- Controlled Variables
Science is a wonderful thing, in which to get results you must control some variables. At 14th level you can control said variables. When casting Eldritch Blast if you roll a 9 or below on your attack roll you may treat it as if it was a 10. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You also can now pick your result on the Wild Magic table when you use this ability.
